Star Wars: Episode II
Comic - May 19, 2002

I've seen a lot of complaints about the movie, I guess people just like to gripe. If there was no Star Wars and this movie just came out of nowhere people would be loving it. I would say it was better than the first one. People complain that the acting is bad, I'd say it was pretty good, what do you want when your dressed in silly clothes talking about Jawa's to a CG character that isn't even there. It pretty much remained a family movie which I think is cool to be able to pull off, they did get rid of Jar-Jar and replace him with some good old-fashioned violence, that seemed to be for the better. Lots of body parts flying. Visually you saw the slicing off of two arms (Jango Fett's hired bounty hunter and Annakin) and the decapitation of four heads (2 Tusken Raiders, Jango and C-3P0...heh). I am probably missing some here, if you recall some chopped off body parts I missed then drop me an e-mail. Still, that's a lot of chopping for a family flick. It seems to have borrowed from other movies like the cities with the flying car traffic reminded me of 5th Element and of course the Gladiator scene, several others too, a lot going on in the movie, like a bottomless box of candy. The storytelling seemed to be much better than the last one, when it was over I didn't want to see it again, I wanted to see the next one. I think everyone can agree though... Yoda kicked some ass.

Never was much for Star Trek. Love Star Wars though, something about getting out of the spaceships. Plus the whole family story going on and stuff. And Jedi's, I mean, that alone... Love the makeup too, and aliens that aren't just a mask on a human body. But I guess that's the difference in something created to be a saga of movies as opposed to a long running TV show. And Yoda, love the Yoda. "I don't know man, it had little Yoda's and shit on it" - Raising Arizona. At any rate, C-3P0 and R2-D2 really seem to be the heart of the saga so I thought it fitting to do a Star Wars toon with them as the subjects. Looks like they are on tattooine here, they better watch out for Jawas and Tusken Raiders, those damn Tuskens.
